Privacy notice
We measure which pages help and in which language, and replay visits with anything you type hidden. We do not sell data or run ads.
Who we are
WestOS connects verified Colombian apparel factories with North American buyers. We are the controller of any data collected on this site. For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
What we collect
We use PostHog, an analytics service hosted in the United States, to understand how this site is used. It records the pages you view, the page you came from, your browser language and device type, clicks and how far you scroll, and your approximate location (country and city) estimated from your internet address.
PostHog also records sessions: a replay of how you move through our pages, including scrolling, clicks and mouse movement. Anything you type into a form is hidden in your browser before the recording is sent, and the product brief on our home page is left out entirely. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
On the buyers page there is a box that asks what you want to make. What you type there is recorded with the same analytics, even if you never send the form, so we learn what buyers are looking for. Your name, company, email and phone are never recorded that way. They reach us only when you send the form yourself.
PostHog stores a small random identifier in a cookie on your device so we can tell visits apart. It contains no name and no contact details, and we never connect it to your identity.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not follow you across other websites.
Why
The analytics and recordings show us which pages are useful, where people get stuck, and in which language, so we can improve them for factory owners and buyers. On a page we prepared for your company, they also tell us whether it was opened, so we know when to follow up. That is the whole use.
What you send us
If you contact us through a form, email, or WhatsApp, we use what you send only to answer you and to prepare the work you asked about. We do not sell it or share it for marketing.
WhatsApp messages to our business number pass through WhatsApp, run by Meta, and are kept in our own system so they reach the right factory or buyer. When a factory and a buyer write in different languages, we machine-translate the message with OpenAI and keep the original next to the translation.
Your rights
If you are in Colombia, Ley 1581 de 2012 gives you the right to know, update, correct, and delete your personal data, and to revoke any authorization you have given. Write to [email protected] and we will act on it. You may also file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (www.sic.gov.co).
The analytics data is anonymous, so we usually cannot tie it back to you even if asked. Your rights matter most for anything you send us directly.
Opting out
Turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser and our analytics and recordings ignore you entirely. Clearing cookies for west-os.com removes the identifier. Ad blockers also block PostHog, and that is fine with us.
